Stuart Argabright is a Producer and Director who has been working in music and multimedia in NYC since 1978.
Stuart's groups The Futants, Ike Yard, Dominatrix,
DCC aka Death Comet Crew also
The Voodooists (1989 -1992), black rain (1989 -1999)
and now Dystopians
Now in 2003 into 2004, he is able to experience a bit of the past, present and future simultaneously with at least 3 of his 1980's groups getting their just Rerelease(s) and new life
while he continues working on new music with Dystopians and new music for Dominatrix (currently in major Rerelease mode on DJ Hell's Gigolo Records , really the best place for it too) and producing Artists like The Rammellzee's new Album for Gomma and
remixing up and comers like Tussle (SF) for Troubleman Unlimited .
In addition, Stuart has been worked in Music Video,
and with Artists such as Gretchen Bender, Robert Longo,
Bill T Jones, author William Gibson, including the 1994 "Neuromancer" Audio Book and "Hip Tech High Lit" in 1987 with Judy Nylon and Sean Young all through the 1980's into the 1990's.
Stuart and Co.'s music appear as soundtracks on movies by Directors Nicholas Roeg, Johnathan Demme and others.
The music video for Dominatrix (directed by Beth B, starring Dominque Davalos) resides in MOMA's permanent Collection, the "Digital Shiatsu" CDROM (starring Barbara Von Traumer) that Stuart Directed and CoProduced won Silver Award @
New Media Magazine's Awards in '96 .
Stuart's Cable TV original soundtracks team
(w/ Chuck Hammer) recieved Emmy nomination in 2001 for their work for 6 NY Times TV's popular Cable TV series including "Trauma: Life In The ER" on TLC and shows for Discovery Ch. , ESPN's "The Season" and Granada TV ,among others .
Stuart will present music by Ike Mori /DJ Olive , Judy Nylon and 8 Bit Construction Set from the "NowThenAfter" Collection of downtown electronic music he has produced for Harvestworks ,
as well as "TraxxStoppers" from the upcoming
"Bi Conicals Of The Rammellzee" Album ,
here remixed and rendered in 5.1 by Paul Geluso.
Also excursion into club music in the form of the new
Black Strobe remix of "The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight"
and a good bit of the new Dystopians
(SA. Mal Torrance .Tim Saccenti) mix we did in Oct. ...
