Shibuya backside

Sliding open the glass door and stepping out onto the small balcony
with the washing machine there was a view of the green grass of little yards , trees
and the height of the wall of apartment buildings , a dozen or more floors of terraces , with more buildings behind filling in the Tokyo horizon .
These towers for living had me again thinking of humans as cliff dwellers ,
our basic need and desire to have a view
For days i watched as storms broke behind the towers , lightning cracking the sky
watched as darkness fell across them ,checked them in morning light and weekend feeling . Buying food at Marusho or Shibuya
A view into a house that had flung open it's window's after the rain.
Workers smoking on the open air steps between floors
We felt the earthquake while we were there
